12 laps on the outside lane of the track.  goofy me thought that 6 laps on the outside was 1 mile -- i actually needed to do 7.  oh well.  lesson learned.  i did (close to) 2 miles on the track, and morningglory and back.  it was HOT!  i really wanted to give up on the way back.  i saw a girl walking her dog, and i thought that WALKING looked so much more fun at that moment.  however, i finally rountree.  walked down from my office.  did weight-loss program on elliptical for 28 minutes, then a 3-min cool-down.  then we walked back to my office.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;tuesday -- 05/15/07&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;begin:  5.30 pm&lt;br /&gt;total time:  20.47&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;route:  our driveway to the first circle, on to the second circle to pointe, through the apartments, back to our driveway.  again, new music helps a lot!  :)  temp:  HOT!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;monday -- 05/14/07&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;begin: 5.45 pm&lt;br /&gt;total time: 18.12&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;route: our house to the circle and back. ran the whole time. new music on the ipod shuffle made a big difference -- more fun to run. :) well, more again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;it was HOT and MUGGY. cort went with me to encourage me. it was funny -- i am SO much slower than him. oh well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;tuesday -- type='text'>a fresh start</title><content type='html'>i had attempted running before, a couple of years ago. inspired and encouraged by my husband, i ran pretty consistently (at least for me!). i even got up the courage to run several 5k's in the area. my goal each time was to finish and to hopefully beat my last 5k time. let's face it, i would never beat anyone in a race. i just wanted to beat my previous times.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;in may of 2006, i found out that i was pregnant with our first child. needless to say, i didn't feel like exercising very much in the beginning, and i certainly didn't feel like it later on when i got bigger. in december, we had a baby boy. i had a good pregnancy and a good labor/delivery. he is a healthy, fun little guy. :)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;with the whole pregnancy, i gained about 30 pounds. right now, 3-4 months later, i am still about 12 pounds heavier than i was pre-pregnancy. i am attempting to make a fresh start, and pick up the running again. i am not where i was before, and that is a hard adjustment to make. i guess i thought i could just pick up where i left off -- that's not happening. so, i have to start again. it's a struggle. i would much rather sit on the couch, and eat chips and drink a coke. i am starting this blog basically as an accountability for myself. we'll see if it works.&lt;div
